Day 7 Gloucester to Stafford

Posted by: Anthony Hewitt

Enjoyed 7th day of cycling along the river Severn and we were in Severnth heaven until the weather took a turn for the worse and it was hail on earth!

The rising Malvern hills were as imperious as Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance but I turned left here via another part of Britten where it started to Tippett down. The wind was brutal today but Sol was a star and took the brunt of it - thanks Sol! Stumbled upon a lovely Lock near Wolverly and a nice pub - this really does feel like middle England! Staffordshire Performing Arts welcomed me with some bunting and congratulations - very thoughtful! They were mildly concerned when my tracker located me at Stafford station - and somewhat suspicious that I may have taken he train! Off to Manchester tomorrow - officially the north but still only day 8 of 20 for me gulp!
